PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station Romblon apprehended motorbanca “Jhonzel-03” for carrying excess passengers off Brgy Alad, Romblon, Romblon on 27 January.

One of the motorbanca’s operators in Brgy Alad informed CGSS Romblon that “Jhonzel-03” owned by Mrs Jannizel R Madeja was allegedly transporting excess passengers from Brgy Alad to Romblon Port.

Upon arrival of “Jhonzel-03” in Romblon, CGSS Romblon boarded the motorbanca and found out that it carried 51 passengers more than its authorized capacity of 30 passengers.

CGSS Romblon then issued Enforcement Inspections Apprehension Reports (EIAR) to the captain of “Jhonzel-03” and apprehended it.

Likewise, the owner and the captain were advised to appear before the hearing officer of CGS Romblon for adjudication of their case.
