PCG: Body of a nine-year-old boy was retrieved by the Philippine Coast Guard at vicinity waters of Delpan Bridge in Binondo, Manila on April 19.

Accordingly, the victim identified as Najeb Radiamoda, a resident of Barangay Carlos Palanca Street, San Miguel, Manila was reported missing last April 18 after the victim and his companions were swimming near McArthur Bridge along Pasig River around 12 noon. Allegedly, the victim did not resurface after he was pulled down by his companions.

At 6PM of April 18, Coast Guard Station (CGS) Pasig received a report from the personnel of Lawton Police Station about the drowning incident that transpired at the said vicinity.

Upon receipt of report,CGS Pasig deployed its Special Operation Unit MalacaΓ±ang to conduct search and rescue operations. Upon arrival thereat, the team coordinated with Mr Jamal Radiamoda, father of the victim and immediately conducted underwater search operation but yielded with negative result. The team decided to temporarily terminate the underwater search operation due to poor visibility and resumed the following day.

On April 19 at around 06:40 AM, CGS Pasig received information from Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Delpan that a floating body was sighted at waters of Delpan Bridge.

CGS Pasig dispatched SOU MalacaΓ±ang team to augment CGSS Delpan. At around 06:55 AM of April 19, the team retrieved the body and was positively identified by his family.

Subsequently, the team brought the body to Delpan Wharf, Binondo, Manila and turned over to Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Division for proper disposition.
