Coast Guard personnel of BRP Nueva Vizcaya (SARV 3502) successfully rescued five Philippine Army personnel and two individual at vicinity waters off Darajuay Island, Catbalogan City, Samar yesterday, May 12.

Coast Guard Station (CGS) Western Catbalogan received a phone call from Captain Lawi-an of the AFP that a motorbanca loaded with Philippine Army and some civilian personnel capsized while transporting Vote Counting Machine (VCM) for Barangays Darajuay, Majaba and Basiao for the election.

All rescued personnel and capsized motorbanca were brought to the shoreline of Brgy Guinsorongan, Catbalogan City.
