ROXAS CITY, Philippines (10 June 2019) – Elements of Deployable Response Team (DRT) Coast Guard Station (CGS) Capiz successfully evacuated an ailing electrician crew of MV Trans-Asia 17 while transiting at vicinity approximately six nautical miles away from Culasi Port, Roxas City yesterday, June 09.

Reports disclosed that at around 11 AM of the said date, personnel of CGS Capiz received a call from Captain Werner Balag of MV Trans-Asia 17 that while traversing the said vicinity, one of his electrician crew named Mr. Rogelio Alcantara, 28 years old, a resident of Bogo, Cagayan De Oro was suffering from severe stomach pain. Said Master requested for a medical evacuation upon arrival at Culasi Anchorage Area.

Immediately, PCG DRT Capiz proceeded to the area and rendered necessary assistance. Rescue Team further made coordination to Roxas City Emergency Response Team for an ambulance to transport Alcantara to Capiz Doctors for further medical attention.
