The Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, Admiral Elson E Hermogino and the Head of Maritime Security Agency of Indonesia (BAKAMLA), Vice Admiral Achmad Taufiqoerochman

signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Maritime Security Cooperation last 11 June at the PCG national headquarters.

The said MOU aims to provide the framework for cooperation between BAKAMLA and PCG in the field of maritime security on the basis of mutual interest and benefit such as mutual exchange of information and sharing of best practices and lessons learned in maritime security, training and human resources development, senior level consultations and regular dialogues and coordinated patrol and similar activities, among others.

Relative to the MOU signing, the PCG thru the Office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Plans, Programs and International Affairs, CG-5, headed by Commander Pamela Dela Cruz Dolina PCG, hosted a welcome dinner for BAKAMLA delegates.

The welcome dinner was graced by Admiral Elson E Hermogino, Rear Admiral Joselito F Dela Cruz the Commander of Maritime Security Command, and other PCG Officers.
