ALBAY, Philippines (20 July 2019)- Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Pioduran successfully apprehended two Korean Nationals who were allegedly suspects of qualified theft onboard a passenger/cargo vessel of Sta. Clara Shipping Corp enroute to Pioduran Port in Albay from Port of Masbate last Thursday, July 18.

According to the report, the two Korean nationals named Kang Min Go, 28 years old and Choi Min, 23 years old were subject to a complaint by their six fellow Korean nationals who were then under the custody of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Masbate City for human trafficking.

Mr Kang and Mr Choi fled after withdrawing undetermined amount of money from the bank supposedly intended for the financial expenses of the six accused Koreans while in jail. They were also suspects for stealing undetermined amount of money from a certain Mr Lee in Masbate City.

CGSS Pioduran conducted inspection and panelling of subject vessel and located said Koreans onboard Isarog bus bound for Manila. The team also recovered a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines loaded with 19 bullets from their backpack.

The team properly turned-over to the Municipal Police Station Pioduran the recovered firearm for verification and ballistic examination and the two suspects for the filing of appropriate charges in court.
