AROROY, MASBATE – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued 43 passengers and eight (8) crew members of a motorbanca that encountered engine trouble off Masbate waters today, 27 November 2019.

Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) in Aroroy, Masbate assisted in the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation.

According to report, the motorbanca departed from Masbate Fish Port, Masbate City going to Claveria, Masbate when an engine problem occurred while said motorbance was along the waters of Baleno and Aroroy in Masbate.

While troubleshooting the engine, one of the crew members noticed that the automotive oil was already mixed with sea water, resulting to engine failure.

The passengers and crew members, who were all in good physical condition, were brought to Aroroy Port in Masbate for further assistance and necessary investigation.
