The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued five (5) fishermen of a boat that capsized due to big waves caused by Typhoon Tisoy in the vicinity waters off Barangay Bolo, Masbate on 03 December 2019.

Upon receipt of report, PCG – Masbate personnel conducted search and rescue (SAR) operation to the fishermen who were found above water, on top of their capsized boat.

The rescued individuals were properly turned over to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) – Masbate and were subsequently brought to Masbate Provincial Hospital for medical assistance.

The capsized boat was brought to Masbate Port for temporary safekeeping, until further guidance from authorities.
