PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Station Siquijor successfully rescued thirty two (32) passengers onboard ran aground M/V Ocean Jet 15 at vicinity waters off Siquijor Port, yesterday, March 11.

Investigations revealed that Capt Ireneo Cabrera, Master of MV Ocean Jet 15, departed Siquijor Port around 6:00 A.M bound to Dumaguete Port, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. While transiting at vicinity waters off Brgy. Tongo, Siquijor around 06:10 A.M, he noticed four fishing bancas approaching along their way while conducting fishing operation.

Immediately, he altered their course to port to avoid collision which caused the fast craft to ran aground at the reefs of Cangalwang, Brgy Tongo, Siquijor.

The rescued 32 passengers who are all in good physical condition, were already turned-over to Mr. Peter Pajenti, Manager of Ocean Jet Shipping Lines, while the master of the said fast craft was already adviced by the CGS Siquijor to file marine protest relative to the said incident.
