PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Culion successfully rescued six passengers and crew of a distressed boat after their motor banca went dead on water at vicinity off Sitio Buhi, Brgy. Culango, Culion Palawan last March 11.
A certain Mr. Julius Glein Gevero, 35 year old resident of Brgy. Jardin Culion, Palawan seeked for immediate rescue and assistance to a distressed unnamed motor banca.Β
While said motor banca was transiting at the vicinity waters off Culango Island, the vessel accidentally encountered engine trouble due to lack of fuel and pressure entering carburetor assembly causing her to go dead on water. The boat captain, Mr. Mark Socro tried to fix the deranged engine but to no avail. They decided to maneuver his boat going to the shoreline of Sitio Buhi, Culion, Palawan and subsequently, contacted Mr. Gevero for immediate assistance.
Immediately, CGSS Culion conducted search and rescue operations together with the personnel from LGU-Culion. The team departed Culion Pier and sighted said motor banca at the vicinity waters off Culango Island. The SAR team rendered assistance to the passengers namely: Mr. Mark Socro, 45 yrs old; Ms. Vilma Socro, 45 yrs old; Ms. Raquel Darol, 45 yrs old; Mr. Avenjie Darol, 40 yrs old; Ms. Joan Maravie Socro, 21 yrs old; and Ms. KC Darol, 17 yrs old.
The motor banca was safely towed to Culion Port with all passengers in good condition.
