PCG: Joint personnel of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (LDRMMO) successfully rescued four fishermen onboard their motor banca “Neva Keiisha Joyce” who went missing from fishing venture at the vicinity municipal waters of Perol, Romblon last Monday, March 12.
According to the report, the said motor banca encountered engine trouble during fishing venture causing them to drift for 2 days. They were swept away by strong winds and current that caused them to reach the shoreline of Caluya Antique. They managed to drop anchor in order to prevent the agrounding of their motorbanca.
PO1 Marvin Panganinan of Caluya PNP spotted them at the said location and subsequently informed Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Caluya regarding the incident. Immediately, CGSS Caluya together with LDRMMO rendered rescue operation.
The four rescued fishermen were brought to Rural Health of Caluya for medical check-up and were declared to be in good physical condition.
They were turned-over to personnel of CGSS Boracay and were escorted by personnel of MDRMMO Caluya onboard a motorbanca going to Sitio Diniwid Boracay Island to visit their relatives prior departing Perol, Romblon last 13 March 2018.
