PCG: Six fishermen were successfully rescued by the personnel of Coast Guard Sub-station Sindangan while they were conducting seaborne patrol at approximately 700 meters away from the coastline of Malintuban, Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte yesterday, March 14.

Said fishermen were reported missing since March 13, when they failed to return after conducting fishing venture onboard fishing banca “Jave 2” with Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering System (SSEN) NM-DAP-080817-000794.

Rescued fishermen are all residents of Brgy Tabon, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga Del Norte were identified as Jaime Adlawon (operator), Jumarey B Aladad, Victorino Guantero, Reneboy Rambo, and an unknown deaf male fisherman aka “Amang”.

Investigations revealed that their motor banca encountered engine trouble causing it to be dead-on-water and continuously drifted in the sea.

Upon rescue, fishermen decided to stayed at the shoreline of Malintuban to conduct repair of their fishing banca.
