PCG: Deployable Response Team (DRT) from Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Boracay revived an unconscious nearly drowned Chinese tourist on a rescue operation  identified as Ms Hong Zhou, 35 years old, while on swimming activity at vicinity waters off Station 1 Brgy Balabag, Boracay Malay yesterday, March 14.

According to the reports, Ms Hong Zhou, together with her husband Mr Jie Zhou, 35 years old,  went on swimming venture at the said area.  Suddenly, Mr Jie Zhou noticed that his wife is in the state of panic as she was drifted to the deeper portion causing her to nearly drowned.

While on seaborne patrol operation in the area, CGSS Boracay personnel noticed the incident and immediately conducted rescue operation to the drowning person and transported her to the nearest hospital afterwards.

While underway, Coast Guard Boracay personnel noticed that the victim was unconscious with no pulse and breathing. The team initiated Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on continues cycle until the victim regain consciousness.

Ms Zhou was rushed by the team to Balabag Island Clinic accompanied by her husband and subsequently transferred to Kalibo Panay Health Care Multi-Purpose Cooperative for further medical treatment.
