PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Station Siargao, Quick Response Team (QRT) and Clearing Outpost (COP) Del Carmen successfully rescued ninety eight (98) persons including the crew of Motorbanca Donnylyn after getting stranded at vicinity waters off Brgy. Italian, Del Carmen and Hinatuan Island, Surigao del Norte last March 24.

Report from COP Del Carmen disclosed that an information was received from skipper of Mbca Donnylyn, Captain Samuel D Estaloza, that subject motorbanca encountered engine trouble after her rudder detached from the vessels.

Immediately, CGS Siargao dispatched its QRT Team onboared M/L LP- Sea Express-2 to conduct search and rescue operation.

Mbca Pilar Tuna, a passing fishing banca sighted Mbca Donnylyn and subsequently conducted towing operations and brought the rescued motorbanca to Port of Del Carmen and safety arrived thereat.

All passengers were found to be in good physical condition and were sent home after undergoing the medical assessment.
