PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sation Camarines Norte successfully rescued the nineteen (19) passengers onboard motorized banca “Jordan 2” at Sitio Angalan, Banocboc, Calaguas Island, Vinzons, Camarines Norte yesterday, April 7.
CGS Camarines Norte received information from Clearing Out Post (COP) Vinzons regarding half submerged M/bca at the said area. Upon receiving the reports, CGS Camarines Norte together with CGSS Mercedes and COP Vinzons immediately proceeded to the area and conducted Search and Rescue (SAR) operation.
The SAR team successfully rescued the nineteen (19) passengers in good physical condition and immediately transferred them to m/bca “Jordan 1” bound to Sitio Mahabang Buhangin, Brgy Mangkawayan, Calaguas Island, Vinzons, Camarines Norte.
Investigation revealed by Mr Melchor Bacar, the skipper of M/bca “Jordan 2” that while underway to Calaguas Island, they encountered big waves at vicinity waters more or less 5 Nautical Miles (NM) of Anggalan Island which caused damage to her free board bow and subsequently go half submerged in the water.
M/bca “Jordan 2” was safely towed by PCG aluminium Boat (AB-119) to Calaguas Island.
