PCG: Five passengers including the boat captain were successfully rescued by the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Masbate when their motor banca “Berlyn” submerged at two nautical miles within the vicinity waters off Baleno, Masbate last May 5, Saturday.

Upon receipt of the report from a concerned citizen, Mrs Boquiron, personnel of CGS Masbate immediately conducted search and rescue operations to the said motor banca. The team rescued the five passengers and transferred to Coast Guard Aluminum Boat-188 while the motor banca was towed to the nearest shoreline of Baleno, Masbate.

Investigation revealed that while enroute to Bolo, Masbate City, the motor banca was allegedly hit by a big fish causing her to submerge.

All passengers were in good physical condition.
