PCG: Seventy (70) IWI Tavor X-95 Sub Machine Guns were presented today before the PCG Commandant Rear Admiral Elson E Hermogino at the PCG National Headquarters Port Area, Manila after the agencyβs flag raising ceremony, 07 May 2018. The Israeli made weapons were delivered last week and will be utilized by PCGβs elite force in combating piracy and terrorism at sea.
The PCG is also set to acquire a 1 billion worth of weaponry this year as provided in the General Appropriation Act of 2018.The acquisition will include 9 mm pistol for all of its personnel, assault and sniper rifles for the Special Operations Force, machine guns for small boat operations, and heavy machine guns with automatic gyro stabilizer for PCG vessels.
The weapons will beef up the PCGβs capability for maritime security and law enforcement operations.
The event was witnessed by PCG officers and personnel led by PCG Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Commodore Eduardo D Fabricante.
