PCG. Personnel from Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan is still searching for the missing crew of fishing banca “Susana” as fishing banca “Marlyd DLS 55” accidentally collided to her yesterday May 24 at vicinity waters off South Channel, Corregidor Island, Cavite.

Fishing banca “Marlyd DLS 55” was enroute to Palawan when it accidentally collided with fishing banca “Susana” who was having a fishing venture in the area.

As per witnesses, fishing banca “Susana” incurred heavy damaged and instaneously sunk after the collision having its five crew fell overboard.

Two crew of fishing banca “Marlyd DLS 55” conducted Search and Rescue where they immediately rescued two of the fishermen and recovered two bodies.

Rescued fishermen were brought to the nearest medical clinic for proper medical attention while the casualties were brought to L.A. Funeraria Central in Navotas City, waiting for the arrival of the relatives.

CGS Bataan personnel are still conducting SAR operation for the missing fisherman. They also advised the fisherfolks to be on the lookout and to report the nearest PCG unit if sighted.
