PCG: A total of 63 passengers onboard M/V Lite Ferry 12 were successfully assisted by the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Tagbilaran at vicinity Port of Tagbilaran, Tagbilaran City, Bohol yesterday, June 07.

The incident was reported by the PCG boarding team to CGS Tagbilaran at around 6PM of the said date. Immediately, personnel of CGS Tagbilaran together with TARSIER (Telephone and Radio System Integrated Emergency Response) 117 proceeded to the said vicinity to verify the veracity of the report and eventually assisted all passengers.

Investigation conducted by PCG disclosed that at 5:22PM of the said date, M/V Lite Ferry 12, while on docking maneuver, accidentally hit the Berth 2 of Tagbilaran Port due to failure of Port Main Engine Transmission which resulted to minor injuries of nine passengers.

PCG advised the Captain of the subject vessel to file a marine protest regarding the said incident. Meanwhile, all injured passengers were immediately brought to the nearest hospital by personnel of TARSIER 117 and returned home safely.
