Personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Western Samar retrieved a body of a drowned person at vicinity waters off Brgy Rawis, Calbayog City in Samar last Sunday, June 24.

According to the report the victim went on a swimming venture while under the influence of alcohol.

Upon receipt of the information, CGS Western Samar Quick Response Team immediately proceeded in the area and conducted search and rescue operations.

After almost an hour of scouring the area, the team retrieved the cadaver of the victim identified as Mr Aniceto Prejas, 52 years old and resident of Brgy. Rawis, Purok 1, Calbayog City.

The cadaver was turned over to the victim’s sister, Ms Gina Prejas and was brought at Calbayog Funeral Homes for proper disposition.

Likewise, the team advised all beachgoers to avoid drinking liquor while on swimming venture for safety purposes.
