PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Sipalay successfully retrieved a floating cadaver who was drowned due to bad weather condition at the vicinity waters off Barangay 4, Sipalay City Negros Occidental yesterday, July 12.

Information received from a certain Mr Elmer Moranta, a fisherman and a resident of Sitio Opao, Brgy 4 Sipalay City disclosed that he sighted a floating cadaver at the vicinity waters off the said area about 06:30AM.

The team immediately proceeded to the vicinity and conducted search and retrieval operations. Subsequently, they successfully retrieved the cadaver identified as Mr Judy Garina, a 62 year old resident of Sitio Manaulan, of the said barangay.

Investigation revealed from Mr Juvy Bayot, the son of the victim, that Mr Garina departed their place for a fishing venture but failed to return home.

The cadaver was properly turned-over to the family for proper disposition.
