Personnel of Multi-Role Response Vessel (MRRV) 4404 “BRP Capones” and personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Aduana rendered assistance to M/V “St. Jhudiel”, a passenger ship vessel operated by 2GO Shipping Lines, after it experienced steering casualty due to big waves along vicinity waters off Shell Island in Cebu last Monday, July 16.
The report was received thru phone call by MRRV 4404 from M/V “St. Jhudiel”. Immediately, MRRV 4404 made coordination with CGSS Aduana for towing assistance.
MRRV 4404 with M-TUG Genera-1 of 2GO Shipping towed the ill-fated vessel at Pier 1 in Cebu City and disembarked 67 passengers who are all in safe condition.
CGSS Aduana advised the Master of M/V “St. Jhudiel” to file a Marine Protest and secure a certificate of seaworthiness from MARINA prior resumption of operation on her authorized route.
