Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Talisay together with Philippine National Police and Bantay Dagat apprehended two fishing bancas for conducting illegal fishing at the vicinity waters of Sorsogon Bay yesterday, 26 July.
While conducting seaborne parol at the said vicinity at 06:00AM, the team sighted an unnamed motorbanca engaged in illegal fishing at the vicinity waters off Barangay Buenavista, Sorsogon City using fine fish nets locally known as “Chinese Bobo”. They recovered one (1) unnamed and undocumented motorbanca, 20 color gray units of fine net, 6.5 HP Kembo Engine, assorted small fish, other fishing paraphernalias and apprehended the 2 persons onboard namely Egleserio Haveria Jaramiel, 34 years old and Jeffrey Jaramiel Jamon, 15 years old, both residents of Barangay Bucalbucalan, Sorsogon.
Meanwhile, at around 07:00AM, they sighted another unnamed motorbanca also engaged in illegal fishing activity using fine mesh net at the vicinity waters of the same barangay. The team recovered an unnanmed and undocumented motorbanca, ten (10) units of colored blue and red “Chinese Bobo” , 7.5 HP Kenbo Engine and apprehended a certain Mr Rolly De Vera Jepsani, a 39 year old resident of Brgy Bulabog, Sorsogon.
Said motorbancas were properly turned-over to Sorsogon City Bantay Dagat while the three (3) apprehended fishermen were turned-over to Sorsogon City Police Station for proper documentation and filing of appropriate cases.
