More than 500 families from the marginalized fisherfolks in Masinloc benefited from the recent joint relief operations; medical and dental civic action program; and psychosocial activity conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) to the residents of Barangay South Poblacion and Barangay San Salvador in Masinloc, Zambales last 04 August 2018.
To promote social responsibility of the Coast Guard and strengthen the legitimacy of the organization in its humanitarian service character, the said civic action undertakings were spearheaded by the Coast Guard District National Capital Region-Central Luzon, Coast Guard Civil Relations Service (CGCRS) together with the Coast Guard Medical and Dental Service, other support medical and dental practitioners, PCGA Special Medical Squadron and PCGA 111th Squadron assisted by the Coast Guard Station Subic and Coast Guard Sub-Station Masinloc.
Likewise, the CGCRS also held informal dialogues with the fisherfolks in Masinloc and encouraged them to volunteer as active members of the PCGβs service-oriented, uniformed volunteer organization, the PCGA which is committed to support and assist the Coast Guardβs mandates.
