Elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Norsam together with Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Allen and Field Station (FS) Eastern Visayas intercepted two (2) sacks containing 65 pieces freshwater turtles onboard Eagle Star Bus while conducting Port Security and Inspection at Jubasan Port, Allen in Samar yesterday, August 11.

This bale of turtles will be transported from Borongan City to Pasay, Manila.

The team confiscated the turtles in violation of Republic Act (RA) 9147 an act providing for the conservation and protection of wildlife resources under habitats, appropriating funds therefore and for other purposes.

Confiscated items were already in the custody of CGSS Allen for documentation prior its turn over to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Catarman, Northern Samar for filing of case and disposition.
