Commodore Allen T Toribio PCG, Commander of the Coast Guard District (CGD) Palawan unveiled the newly acquired Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) last Monday, 20 August, which was donated to the Philippines by the Japanese Government to strengthen its campaign against terrorism.
The Anti-Terrorism Fast Boat is fitted with 30 Caliber Machine Gun and manned by highly trained PCG personnel.
It was turned-over to CGD Palawan two weeks ago by the Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, Admiral Elson E Hermogino PCG.
The presence of the fast boat will act as deterrence and interdiction to extremist groups and other lawless elements.
