CGSS Plaridel received a report from DENR personnel that three (3) trucks loaded with alleged lauan woods are at the Port and they are requesting for assistance in the conduct of inspection.
Upon receiving the report, CGSS Plaridel proceeded to the area and conducted inspection.

Initial investigation revealed that the owner of the lumber is a certain Mr. Yun of Calamba, Misamis Oriental. Said lumber crates includes variance of Mahogany, Falcata, Mangium, Marang, Gmelina, Santol and other tree species which will be transported to Cebu City onboard M/V β€œLite Ferry”. However, not all of the cargoes were given the permit to transport.

Subsequently, said lumbers were turned over to DENR personnel for proper disposition and filing of appropriate case.
