PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Camotes successfully rescued two fishermen who went missing after a fishing venture at vicinity waters off San Francisco, Camotes and Danao City, Cebu last September 21.
The said fishermen were identified as Mr. Dino Saringa, 32 years old and Bryan Capin, 13 years old, both residents of the said area were onboard Motor boat βMary Janeβ.
Information revealed that a certain Mr. Elias Endaya, a resident of Puertobello, San Francisco, Cebu appeared at CGSS Camotes and reported that the husband of his niece, Saringa and his nephew, Capin failed to return home as expected.
Upon receipt of the report, CGSS Camotes immediately coordinated with CGSS Danao regarding the incident and launched a search and rescue operation. The two missing fishermen were then successfully found by search team onboard their motorboat which encountered engine failure that caused them to drift between vicinity seawaters off Camotes Islands, Cebu and Hingutanan Island, Bien Unido, Bohol.
Said fishermen were found in good physical condition while their boat was towed to the shoreline.
Personnel of CGSS Camotes further advised the fisherfolks in the area not to venture out to the sea during unfavorable weather and sea condition.
