A coast guard sea marshal onboard MV Ever Queen of Asia, a cargo passenger vessel bound to Jolo from Siasi, was stabbed by a passenger named Juldi J Mahbud at the vicinity waters off Lugos Siasi, Sulu around 1PM last Friday, October 05.
Initial information from Seaman Second (SN2) Abdel Basher Appang PCG, a sea marshal onboard the said vessel together with SN2 Aldimer Ganih PCG and SN2 Michael Ladja PCG, revealed that while they are conducting ticket inspection, Mr Mahbud rushed and stabbed SN2 Ladja PCG which caused him to react and neutralize the suspect leading to his instantaneous death.
M/V Ever Queen of Asia returned to Siasi and brought SN2 Ladja who suffered from multiple stab wounds on different parts of his body to the nearest hospital for a temporary medical treatment and subsequently continued its voyage bound to Jolo with the victim and two nurses from Siasi Hospital onboard.
Upon receipt of the report, Captain Joseph Coyme PCG, Coast Guard District South Western Mindanao Acting Commander, dispatched the Multi-Role Reponse Vessel 4410 (BRP Bagacay) to conduct medical evacuation on the said victim and brought him to the nearest hospital in Zamboanga City.
At present time, SN2 Ladja PCG is still recovering at Brent Hospital in RT Lim Boulevard Zamboanga City.
