PCG. Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-station Gumaca apprehended a motor banca in Gumaca Port after being reported by a concerned citizen that she was carrying excess passengers last January 3.

A certain Ms Maria Iris Villaruel Rodolfo posted the overloading incident on her Facebook account.

Immediately, CGSS Gumaca conducted investigation and identified the motor banca as MB Sanymel – 1 with 29.61 gross tonnage. Said motor is owned by Saturnino Labrada and skippered by Capt Manuel M Oliveros banca and plies Gumaca Port and Quezon area and vice-versa.

CGSS Gumaca issued Enforcement Inspection Apprehension Report (EIAR) with the following violations:

a) Carrying Excess Passenger

b) Leaving Port Without PCG Clearance

c) Failure to Submit Master’s Declaration of Safe Departure (MDSD)

CGSS Gumaca also informed the Master to report at CGS Southern Quezon within ten (10) days for adjudication proceedings.
