PCG. Three fishermen in Linapacan, Palawan were arrested last Friday, January 13 due to illegal fishing at the vicinity waters of Sitio Gintu in Barangay Bulawit.

The suspects were identified as Ramram Velasco, 21; Juvanei Lucio, 22; Jerald Lucio, 30, all residents of Calinbangbangan, Palawan.

Personnel of the Coast Guard Sub-station (CGSS) Linapacan discovered that the fishermen were using compressor and breathing apparatus in their fishing activities which are prohibited in the province of Linapacan.

The PCG confiscated the air compressor from the fishermen as well as two 60-meter compressor hose, two engines, two face masks and two pairs of improvised fins.

The team brought the apprehended fishermen and the confiscated items at the PNP-Linapacan for proper disposition. They will face charges for violating Provincial Ordinance 819 Series of 2005 (Banning of Compressor as Breathing Apparatus).
