PCG: The cadaver of the missing local tourist who reportedly went missing after getting drowned at the vicinity waters of Aliya Surf Camp and Resort in Brgy Sabang, Baler, Aurora was recovered by the Coast Guard personnel on January 31.

Reports revealed that the victim identified as Mr Alvin Fernandez, 26 years old and a resident of Brgy San Joaquin, Pasig City decided to swim together with his companion, Mr Jedy Canales while under the influence of alcohol last January 29. Due to unpredictable sea condition in the area, the two were swept away which caused Fernandez to drown and subsequently went missing.

Immediately, Coast Guard personnel in Aurora, Baler and Casiguran together with the trainees of Wesleyan University Philippines conducted foot patrol and  search and retrieval operations to Fernandez. 

The cadaver was sighted floating at 25 meters away from the shoreline of Buhangin Beach in Baler. The retrieved body was positively identified by his relatives and was brought to Amatorio Funeral Homes for proper disposition.
