The Deputy Commander of United States Coast Guard (USCG) Pacific Area (PACAREA), REAR ADMIRAL PAT DEQUATTRO , together with LCDR JOSHUA EMPEN USCG will pay a courtesy call to COMMO JOEL S GARCIA PhD, H.D., Al-haj.,Officer-In-Charge, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on February 3 at the Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard in Manila.

The highlight of the visit is the discussion of the invitation of the US Coast Guard to the Philippine Coast Guard Public Affairs for a Subject Matter Expert Exchange Visit in Alameda, California, wherein the USCG will introduce to the PCG the current trends of public affairs and social media policies, the roles and responsibilities of USCGPAOs and Specialists at the strategic, operational and tactical level. 

Other potential areas where USCG may enhance cooperation with the PCG will also be discussed to further strengthen the relationship of both Coast Guards.

Commodore Garcia expressed his enthusiasm in welcoming the US Coast Guard visitors as it clearly depicts a thousand opportunities for the PCG to gear up in conjunction with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s envisioned transformation of the Philippine government as a whole.
