PCG: Eight crew onboard Mbca "Poseidon" were successfully rescued by a passing foreign cargo vessel, MV Oriental Xanadu while transiting at the vicinity waters Southwest of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro today, February 16.
Said motor banca incurred serious damage to her propeller shaft and outrigger after she was battered by big waves and strong winds while transiting at the vicinity waters North of Lubang Island last February 15.
The distressed motor banca with eight (8) crew onboard were identified as follows: Felix Cusi (43 y.o.), Servinio Dela Cruz Jr (32 y.o.), Garry Cusi (23 y.o.), Reynaldo Pantoja (43 y.o.), all residents of Puerto Galera; Joemary Burias (34 y.o.), a resident of Quezon City; and Mark Butch A Jumarang (32 y.o.), Edwin R Lucero (36 y.o.), and Christopher James A Argavante (19 y.o.), all residents of Santa Maria, Talisay, Batangas.
Coast Guard personnel of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) 3010 coordinated with the captain of MV Oriental Xanadu, Captain Romulo Quiro for the transfer of crew in Subic.Β
Said crew were then brought to Coast Guard Medical Service in Manila for further medical assessment.
