PCG: Two fishermen are the subject of search and rescue by the elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Subic who were reported missing in two separate incidents at the vicinity waters of Zambales last February 13 and 14.
One fisherman identified as Mr Hernando A Mendoza was reported missing by his wife, Mrs Mary A Mendoza to CGS Subic. Mr Mendoza onboard Fbca “Princess” departed Brgy San Agustin, Iba, Zambales around 4PM on February 13 for a fishing venture at the vicinity 10 NM West of Iba, however, failed to return home the following day.
Personnel of Coast Guard in Masinloc scoured the vicinity but terminated its operations due to inclement weather and intends to continue its search if weather permits.
Meanwhile, a certain Mr Bobot Ruanto onboard Fbca “Jonald-1” was also reported missing after going out for a fishing venture at the vicinity 20 NM West of Silangin Point, Subic last February 14.
The team also advised local barangay officials and fishermen to be on look-out for the reported two missing fishermen and immediately report to the nearest PCG unit if sighted.
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) vessels 3010 and 3001 were also deployed by the PCG in search for Ruanto and Mendoza.
