The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel in Western Visayas participated in the sendoff ceremony of Force and Resources for the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) 2017 Summit which was held at the Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City on March 05, 2017.

The PCG was tapped to compose the Task Unit for Maritime during the ASEAN Summit in Visayas which will be held in Iloilo from March 6-16, 2017. All PCG detailed personnel and floating assets were displayed during the ceremony. Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Office of Civil Defense and Philippine Navy among others also participated the said activity wherein they showcased the readiness of their respective agencies in carrying out their designated tasks during the summit.

Iloilo City is the second venue of the ASEAN Summit in Visayas Region. The first venue was held in Boracay and the third venue will be in Bacolod City. This year’s ASEAN chaired by the Philippines is themed as “Partnering for Change Engaging the World”.
