PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Roxas continues its search for a missing fisherman onboard a small boat at vicinity of Pawa River, Barangay Pawa, Panay, Capiz yesterday, April 3.

The missing fisherman was identified as Mr. Richard Bigay, 52 years old and a resident of Barangay Pawa.

Investigation revealed that Bigay went on fishing venture and failed to return home since. Councilor Hernane Bandehas of said barangay reported the incident to the Coast Guard.

Immediately, CGS Roxas directed its Deployable Response Team (DRT) onboard PDRRMC Rubber Boat together with the personnel of Philippine National Police (PNP), Local Government Unit (LGU) - Panay and Provincial Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) to conduct rescue operations.

Due to unfavorable sea condition, search and rescue operation conducted yielded negative result and was temporarily terminated. Search will continue as soon as the weather permits.

CGS Roxas advised all fishermen in the area to be on look-out for the said missing fisherman and immediately report to the nearest PCG unit if sighted.
