The elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Currimao successfully rescued five (5) passengers of an unnamed motorbanca that capsized while they were conducting seaborne patrol and maritime security during the celebration of Currimao Dinalisan Festival at the vicinity waters of Kadilian Beach Resort, Barangay Torre, Currimao, Ilocos Norte yesterday, May 1.

According to reports, the five (5) victims namely; Rosseler Luad, 26 years old, Roderick Banua, 24 years old, John Mark Ponce, 17 years old, Mark Villanueva, 17 years old and Christopher Villanueva 10 years old, all residents of Brgy 171, Bagongbong Dulo, Caloocan City boarded the motorbanca of their relatives for an island hopping. While navigating at the said vicinity, the motorbanca was battered by big waves and eventually capsized.

Upon receiving the report from a certain Kevin Jarred De Castro, PCG personnel immediately launched SAR operations and successfully rescued all the passengers in good physical condition.

The Captain of the motorbanca was advised to file a marine protest relative to the incident.
