PCG: Joint elements of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group, and Local Government Unit (LGU) of Romblon recovered five cadavers while 44 passengers were rescued after a motorbanca capsized at the vicinity waters of Barangay Agbudia, Romblon, today.

Initial reports revealed that said motorbanca was identified as Mbca Alad Express 2, which departed Magdiwang, Sibuyan, Romblon enroute to Romblon, Romblon at around 9:40 AM when she was suddenly battered by strong whirlwinds and big waves.

Upon receipt of the said report, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Romblon-Romblon Search and Rescue (SAR) Teams immediately conducted a joint search and rescue operation together with the abovementioned responders.

Subsequently, the rescued passengers from the shore were immediately rushed to Romblon General Hospital for proper disposition whereas; the six crewmembers were all rescued.
