PCG: Authorities from the Philippine Coast Guard apprehended a man for carrying a firearm loaded with ammunitions without pertinent documents during a security checkpoint at Pulauan Port, Dapitan around 3:39 PM yesterday, 14 June 2017.

According to Lt Antolin Cayabo, station commander of Coast Guard Station Dapitan, , a 9mm caliber pistol loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunitions was found in the possession of a certain Desiderio M Camingawan, 54 years old, resident of North Peñan, Dipolog City onboard a vehicle driven by Manolito J Jamarolin, 49 years old. 

PCG joint team composed of Coast Guard Station Dapitan, Coast Guard K9 and Special Operation Group Advanced Post conducting security checkpoint at the main gate of the said port successfully seized the suspects and the firearm.

Camingawan and Jamarolin both departed Poblacion North Pinan enroute to Pulauan Port to get the moldings for the ceiling onboard a passenger vessel from Cebu City.

Subsequently, said persons were brought to CGS Dapitan Office for further investigation and filing of charges.
