Investigation conducted to Mr. Roland L Lanquino, skipper of the mbca “Rye Xanne”, revealed that the vessel was bound to Albor, Province of Dinagat when he decided to proceed to Brgy. Roxas of Dinagat Island to submit pertinent documents at CGSS Roxas.

While approaching the port, the Chief Engineer failed to hear the sound signal to stop her engine causing her to continuously move and later hit the port. She incurred damages on her outrigger and cracks on the starboard side of her hull.

PCG transferred the passengers to Mbca “Melrochelle”, bound to Albor, Province of Dinagat Islands.

After the conduct of the Vessel Safety Enforcement Inspection (VSEI) the following deficiencies were cited:

VS8934 – Broken Outrigger (starboard side)

The boat captain and his crew conducted minor repairs by putting temporary braces and epoxy to the cracks of the hull. PCG also advised Mr Lanquino to file a Marine Protest relative to the incident.
