Rear Admiral Donna L Cottrell United States Coast Guard (USCG), Director of Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF) West paid a courtesy visit to the Officer-In-Charge, Philippine Coast Guard, Commodore Joel S Garcia PCG Ph.D., H.D., Al-haj, at the Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard in Manila this morning, July 13.

The said courtesy call was followed with a briefing conducted bythe Officer-in-Charge, together with the PCG Central Staff, discussing the PCG organization’s growing number of assets and personnel while addressing the general situation of National Coast Watch Center after being implemented under Executive Order No. 57, s 2011established as an inter-agency mechanism for maritime security operations to monitor the Philippines’ 36,000 kilometer-coastline.
