PCG: Motor Pump Boat Sabturiya, a wooden hulled cargo vessel, was reported to have encountered engine trouble and drifted towards vicinity waters off Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City yesterday, July 15.
Subject motor pump boat was bound for Pilas Group of Island, Basilan Province with fifteen (15) passengers and crew onboard
Upon receiving the report, Coast Guard Station Zamboanga proceeded to the abovementioned area and conducted Search and Rescue Operation and subsequently towed her to the nearest shoreline.
All passengers and crew were safely transported at the station beach area.

However, MPB Sabturiya was placed under the custody of CGS Zamboanga for further determination of her violations.
