 PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Substation Victorias is still on search for a reported missing fisherman at Brgy. Tuburan, E.B Magalona, Negros Occidental yesterday, July 15.

The victim was identified as Mr. Ricardo Delacruz, 62 years old, resident of Brgy. Tuburan, E.B. Magallona, Negros Occidental.

 According to the report, Delacruz was suffering from epilepsy. He went on fishing venture yesterday onboard his non-motorized fishing banca painted with a combination of color green and white at said municipality and failed to return home.

However, a certain Renante Estadelo towed the victim’s fishing banca to the shoreline of Brgy. Tuburan, E.B. Magallona, Negros Occidental after he found it unmanned while he was navigating back home from fishing venture.

Deployable Response Team (DRT) of CGSS Victorias and 615.2 Coast Guard Auxillary Squadron (CGAS) personnel together with E.B. Magallona Rescue Team, Silay City Rescue Team and E.B Magallona Bantay Dagat personnel conducted a joint search and rescue (SAR) operations buyt yielded with negative result. 

CGSS Victorias advised all nearby coastal barangays and all motor banca/vessel transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out for possible sightings of the said missing person and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit.
