PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Danao is still searching for an eight year old boy who went missing while on a swimming venture at Tambuki Falls, Brgy. Manlayag, Danao City on July 16.

 The victim was identified as Pepe Derecho, a resident of Sitio Timubo, Brgy. Cabungahan, Danao City, Cebu.

According to reports, the victim was with his elder brother who went swimming at Tambuki Falls when a strong current suddenly occurred in the area due to heavy rains, causing them to drown.

His brother’s cadaver was retrieved at the area of incident while Pepe was believed to be swept out to sea off Brgy. Taytay City, Danao.

Upon receiving the report, CGSS Danao immediately conducted search and retrieval operation but yielded with negative result.

CGSS Danao advised all nearby coastal barangays and all motor banca/vessels transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out for the possible sighting of the said missing child and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit.
