PCG: The personnel of the Coast Guard in Clearing Outpost (COP) and Municipal Police Station General Luna successfully rescued twenty-two (22) passengers of the capsized motorbanca at the vicinity waters of Naked Island, General Luna, Surigao Del Norte on July 23.

A certain Bedict Forcadilla appeared to Clearing Outpost, General Luna and reported the incident around 12:57 in the afternoon.

The Coast Guard personnel in Clearing Outpost together with MPS General Luna immediately conducted search and rescue operation and successfully found the ill-fated Mbca Mak Mak’Necca.As per inquiry, the said motorbanca departed from Naked Island after Island hopping enroute to General Luna when they encountered strong winds and big waves causing the motorbanca to capsize.

All passengers were found to be in good physical condition were subsequently sent home to their respective families.

Meanwhile, the Captain of the motorbanca was advised to file marine protest in relative to the incident.
