PCG: Four (4) million worth of forest products were successfully apprehended by the PCG and other local operatives after a joint operation at Brgy Baac, Sogod, Southern Leyte last Monday, July 24.
The operatives consist of Coast Guard Station Maasin, Coast Guard Sub-Station Sogod, Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region 8, City Environment of Natural Resources Office-Maasin, Municipal Police Station Sogod and intelligence units confiscated the following products:

DENR-Region 8 issued an apprehension receipt in violation to Presidential Decree-705 as amended by Republic Act-7161 otherwise known as βRevised Forestry Code of the Philippinesβ. The cargoes were temporary turned over to the custody of Hon. Raul Galoca, Brgy Chairman of Brgy. Maac, Sogod, Southern Leyte for safe keeping prior filing of appropriate case in court.
