PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Mobile Team (CGMT) in Padre Burgos successfully rescued two (2) fishermen onboard an unregistered fishing banca “Mahal” after encountering an engine trouble at vicinity waters 250 meters away from the shoreline of Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte yesterday, July 26.

Information received from a certain Mr Roque Rason, an employee of Southern Leyte Divers of Padre Burgos, disclosed that he sighted two waving fishermen asking for help. 

Immediately, search and rescue team of CGMT Padre Burgos scoured the reported vicinity and successfully rescued the two fishermen namely; Jeppy Ras (19 years old) and Efren Yanna (50 years old) both residents of Brgy. Mabini, Hibas in Padre Burgos.

Investigation revealed that the fishing banca owned by Mrs Gemma Norma was conducting a sea trail operation at the sea waters off Padre Burgos when its engine suddenly shut off.

Subsequently, the SAR team properly turned-over the rescued fishermen to their relatives in good physical condition.
