PCG: PCG in Bataan successfully evacuated a South Korean-flagged bulk carrier crew in Bataan after the victim was suffering from severe stomach ache last August 13.
Personnel of Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Corregidor received a radio call from Duty Radio Operation of Vessel Traffic Management System Corregidor informing that Captain Jin Gu, Master of MV Wooyang Queen was requesting for a medical evaluation for Jon Elijah Pascua, 23 years old, oiler of said vessel. Pascua was suffering from severe stomach pain while the vessel was transiting at vicinity between Mariveles and La Monja Island enroute from Indonesia to Taean, South Korea.
Immediately, Coast Guard Station Bataan coordinated with Barangay Lamao Health Center in Limay, Bataan for the availability of rescue ambulance and medical personnel for immediate medical attention.
The victim was immediately rushed to Bataan Saint Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga for medical examination and treatment.
Personnel of CGS Bataan were able to contact the patientβs immediate family in Novaliches, Quezon City and informed them of Pascuaβs condition.
