PCG: Coast Guard Station (CGS) Brooke’s Point successfully rescued a fisherman while conducting maritime patrol at Barangay, Balacan, Brooke’s Point, Palawan last August 15, Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Mr. Sonito P Galicia, 62 years old, onboard a an unnamed motorbanca painted with green in color with 6.5 HP engine, and a resident of said barangay.

Personnel of CGS Brooke’s Point spotted said motorbanca and immediately assisted Galicia. Accordingly, the victim went on a fishing venture and while underway transiting at vicinity waters 4 NM off said barangay, the motorbanca incurred engine trouble.

Personnel of said station conducted towing operation and immediately brought said boat to the said nearest shoreline of said barangay. 

The rescued fisherman is in good physical condition and safely returned back to his family.
